It's a private alpha
GOOM is in private alpha. That means: early builds, things changing, and the occasional rough edge. The alpha is free to download and use — if that ever changes, we'll tell you before it does. You're testing with us, and your feedback is the product.
Please keep the alpha between us — no posting the APK on file-sharing sites. We'll open it up properly at public launch.
Your account
Your account is your phone number. You're responsible for the code you enter and the device you use. We may suspend accounts that break the app for everyone (abuse, bots).
Challenges & verification
Challenges are won with verified activity — steps checked against your device's health data. If a device misreports (a pedometer bug, a sensor glitch), we may review counts. The rules of each challenge are shown in the app; those rules apply to that challenge.
Plates
During the alpha, reward plates are tracked in the app as a visual record while we finalise the physical spec and shipping. Physical plate terms — size, material, ship time and cost — will be published before public launch. Until then, a plate in your profile is a visual record, not yet a shipping promise. Each plate is numbered, and the first plate is one per person.
Food data
Barcode food data comes from Open Food Facts — a community database we don't own. Coverage is broad but not guaranteed; when a barcode isn't found, you can log by hand. Food data is for your personal tracking, not medical advice.
Changes to GOOM
We can add, change or remove features during the alpha. For anything that materially changes what you signed up for (pricing, data, plate terms), we'll tell you in the app first.
Liability
During the free alpha, GOOM is provided "as is". Your liability and ours are limited to what the law allows for a free service. If you have any doubt about pushing your body, talk to a doctor — GOOM counts steps, not heartbeats.
